Living Waters Brewing
Spent a lovely chill Monday evening at Nashville’s Living Waters Brewing. We stopped in because it came highly recommended by several friends who have visited the area.
When you first walk in, your senses are bombarded by roasted coffee and malt. We came in as a large group, and with so many varying tastes we were happy to see the impressive selection of both coffee drinks and beer.ย
Corey behind the counter/bar was a delight. He easily answered all the questions being thrown his way and was both patient and knowledgeable. As the night went on he became one of my favorite bartenders.
Living Waters Brewing likes to classify all its beers into two groups, waterfalls and rivers. The waterfall beers should be enjoyed not long after purchase while the river beers can be enjoyed both now and after an extended time.
The taproom has such a cozy chill atmosphere I could have stayed for hours.
They don’t offer flights here at Living Waters Brewing but they do offer tasting pours. I ordered up 2 to start, Sutherland IPA, and Fitzgerald Gose.
Sutherland made with Eggers Hops from New Zealand comes in at 8% ABV hazy and golden on the pour with a citrusy nose. Smooth with a soft mouthfeel, very drinkable with notes of grapefruit, oranges, melon, and just the right level of bitterness.
The Fitzgerald sits at 6%ABV and is a collaboration with No Quarter which is in Nashville and oddly a pinball dive lounge noquarternashville.com . This was super juicy citrus on the nose with a hint of vanilla, and a little hazy on the pour. The taste was perfection, I’m a huge fan of a well-done Gosa (can you hear me cheering) this was amazing. Crisp, with notes of tangerine and vanilla with just the right tartness from the blood oranges, super refreshing. I would drink this all summer if I could.
Anduin Imperial Milk Stout was my final taster of the night. A nose of vanilla and cinnamon invites you right in, the taste is like cinnamon toast crunch with chocolate. Sweet and delicious like coming home to a toasty warm house on a cold winter’s evening. In case you couldn’t tell, I loved it!
Living Waters Brewing opens at 8am every day. For those heading into work, you may want to consider making this spot part of your morning ritual. They offer online ordering so you don’t have to worry about the wait!
One of my companions tried the Lavender Haze a iced lavender honey latte and gave it rave reviews. It is also available hot.
The coffee menu has everyday offerings that include Lattes, cold brews, batch brews, teas, and a few single-origin coffees. Their current single-origin coffee list is featured below.
Living Waters Brewing also offers a selection of Secret Bodega Brekkie Burritos to enjoy alongside your morning java, or anytime, as they are available open to close!
Living Waters Brewing has a great outdoor patio area right out front and an amazing garage door that opens up into the brewery for the lovely weather days.
Living Waters Brewing is a busy place that offers all kinds of things to do aside from drinking beer and coffee. They have trivia nights on Thursdays (Lord of The Rings fans pay attention, they love those stories here), music nights on various nights of the week, and food trucks on most Fridays and Saturdays.
They also offer a members club for those of you lucky enough to be local. If you sign up you’ll receive 10% off all draft beer every visit, you can pre-order all special releases, and you’ll receive 6 exclusive unique barrel-aged bottles, a t-shirt, and an invitation to a members club party. The sign-up typically happens around Thanksgiving every year, so remember to keep an eye out!

A Little Bit Extra
Living Waters Brewing is home to some incredible murals. The one that stole my heart is on the inside wall by the front entrance. The majority of this wall is full of waves of Living Water with the brewery’s signature logo upon the crest of each wave, it was recently completed this past November. It was created by TMA murals, check out more of her exquisite work here Tarabella Aversa (tmamurals.com).

I just came across your blog posts reviewing different breweries. I have to say, it has me very intrigued! As an avid IPA fan Iโm always on the hunt for the latest and greatest hop bombs.
The way you have described the different flavors sounds absolutely divine and have me craving a pint. It’s been a long time since a beer description has painted such a vivid picture in my mind.
There’s nothing better than a hazy IPA that manages to pack in tons of flavor while still going down smooth and easy. It sounds like the brewers nailed that luxurious mouthfeel that lets the vibrant hop character shine.
I also appreciate the extra touches you included about the food and other amenities offered. Your reviews have convinced me to visit many of the breweries you highlighted. Thank you!
Jason,
Thank you for the kind words! Happy to have given you some breweries to add to your must visit list. Cheers!
