Marble Fox Brewing Company
We spent some time at Marble Fox Brewing Company on a recent Friday night. Marble Fox is located in The Gulch area of Nashville a few miles away from the chaos of Broadway which makes it feel like a whole other world. Upon walking in you’re greeted with a stunning marble fox mural that has just recently been completed by artist Pratiksha Muir. You can check out the mural process on her Instagram page, it’s truly amazing www.instagram.com/pmuirart/

Brewing is a Family Affair
The brewery’s name is an homage to the owner’s family brewing history. The owner’s great-grandfather was a brewmaster at Fox Head Brewing in Milwaukee in the 1800s. Fox Head was owned by Pabst Brewing Company. In addition to the name similarities, Marble Fox Brewing Company shares a very similar logo to the old Fox Head Brewing brand. Fox Head Brewing closed in 1961, but that love of beer carries on today at Marble Fox Brewing Company.
There was a decent crowd that Friday and cheery Morgan behind the bar was handling it perfectly. A couple in the back was competing in a game of life-size Connect 4. I was so jealous that the game was occupied, I love playing!

With 16 taps available, my companions perused the draft list, and I went up to the bar to place my flight order.ย
When it arrived in front of me, the couple to my right was like, “What is that, you can get tiny beers?” We both laughed a bit and I explained the flight system to them. It turns out they were in Nashville on vacation and typically aren’t big beer drinkers. While away they wanted to try something outside their normal routine.ย I’m so happy I was able to introduce them to the joy of the flight!

My four choices were Blood Orange Endlessly a Hazy Session IPA, Starless Echo an Imperial Oatmeal Stout, Moderately Extreme Amber Lager, and Smile Lines a Hazy IPA.
First out of the gate was the Blood Orange Endlessly with an ABV of 4.2%, pouring a rich yellow-orange color with a citrus nose. Upon tasting, I was greeted with a nice light-bodied citrusy brew with Mimosa vibes. An easy day drinking beer if ever there was one. This is the second Endlessly from Marble Fox Brewing Company. The original Endlessly was produced using passionfruit. I’ll be interested to see if the Endlessly becomes a series.
Smile Lines was up next and came in at 6.2% ABV. A lovely hazy juicy yellow pour with a sweet mixed fruit nose. A little too much pineapple for me in this one, but juicy with a nice amount of hoppiness without being overly bitter. I think my pineapple-loving friends will really enjoy this one!
Next up was Moderately Extreme which sits at 5.5% ABV. I love this name, it feels like a great way to describe my way of living life. A deep rich amber color with a malty, slightly grassy nose. The first sip presented with a toasty maltiness but seemed a bit too light, followed up with some light floral notes. Not a bad Amber, but not my favorite either.
The last one on my flight was Starless Echo at 8.7% ABV. It poured almost black, accompanied by a lovely nose with notes of vanilla and coconut. The mouthfeel was a little thin but the flavor more than made up for it. The rich chocolate notes were balanced by just the right amount of coconut with delicious marshmallow making its appearance on the backend. This was a very enjoyable stout. Starless Echo is created from Marble Fox’s Starless their first big stout. I’m starting to sense a Treehouse Brewing situation here and I’m not sad about it!

The vibe here at Marble Fox was light and easy, my favorite kind of place. Open and inviting, with these amazing garage door style windows to let copious amounts of sunshine in and a nice breeze on those late spring/early summer days.

They have a nice-sized taproom and a great outdoor seating area for the pleasant weather days.

A fantastic selection of table games and of course as mentioned above Giant Connect Four. They also have a great selection of card games like Play Nine, Skip-Bo, and Adventure Land.
There’s always something special going on at Marble Fox Brewing Company and I’m not just talking about their beer, from Tuesday Trivia nights every week at 7, to dog adoption events, to Marble Fox run club, to taproom yoga, and of course live music on the weekends (it is Nashville after all).

Marble Fox Brewing Company offers some pretty sweet merch for sale, follow them, even if it’s from a distance! FYI – Marble Fox will be celebrating their 1st anniversary this coming June and I imagine it’ll be one hell of a party if you can make it to town. And speaking of parties, the brewery is available to book for your next party!
